Great Non-Profit Tech Talk - Funny, Too!
Below is an excellent resource for non-profits. I just listened to the 1-hour keynote by Allen Gunn (of AspirationTech), which is essentially an overview of how a non-profit should regard technology issues. It is intended for a non-technical audience, though it does get into specifics of tying together your website, database, newsletter and the use of web 2.0. It's hilarious, too.
og_civicrm module for Drupal 5.1
This passed my inbox this morning, and I wanted it to get the widest exposure possible:
http://www.nabble.com/Interest-in-getting-og_civicrm-updated-to-Drupal-5...
Rob Thorne is asking for folks to chip in to get the OG_CiviCRM module updated for Drupal 5.1.
There's a big need for this kind of sync between Drupal and CiviCRM for membership organizations, nonprofits, etc.. - so click on the link above, read his message, and DONATE to get him the hours to get this done!

Site upgrade
I've recently moved this site from civicspace 4.6 (drupal/civicrm) to stock Drupal 5.1 - due to some recent server upgrades from our ISP that knocked this site off into 'Internal Error 500' land..
Dreamhost is a great ISP, but unfortunately not great for Drupal installations. If anyone out there knows of a great ISP that provides a good environment for Drupal/CiviCRM installations (with SOAP/VERP for CiviMail), then please contact us, or leave comments here..

Nonprofit Communication
I attended a great event today at the Hollywood theatre, put on by the Meyer Memorial Trust titled "Communicating in the Age of New Media". The overall presentations centered on video as a communication tool - which is great for those organizations that can afford it, and are up to speed on their online strategy. But for those who don't have a tens of thousands of dollars to spend on producing video, a general over view of effective communication strategy was in order.
Video
This video is from an event last May entitled "Iraqis Speak: Voices for Peace in Iraq" that I've cut down to just Raed Jarrar's segment as a preview for Sunday's March 18 event at which Raed will be the headlining speaker.
This was from a speaking event that was connected to the "Eyes Wide Open" exhibit a memorial to American and Iraqi lives lost since the Iraq war started on the national mall in Washington D.C., and hosted by the Plymouth Congregational United Church of Christ.
